Measure your recording capacity
There is no fixed number of streams that every CaptureGem machine can record. The source sites, bitrates, network path, storage drives, and post-recording processing determine the result.
- Start with one stream and record long enough to observe normal network and disk use.
- Add a few supported streams at a time. Watch download throughput, CPU use, free space, and temporary-folder growth.
- Let each test finish. Inspect every output for duration, playable video, and audio when the source provides it. A started recording is not proof that its media is complete.
- Stop increasing the count when failures, long processing queues, or insufficient headroom appear. Keep room for source bitrate spikes.
A GPU encoder meter does not measure CaptureGem’s ordinary stream capture capacity. See resource scaling and file locations.
