CaptureGem does not provide a configurable on_stop hook or a Post-Processing command field. Finish and inspect a recording first, then use a separate video tool if you need a smaller or more compatible viewing copy.

For example, an external FFmpeg installation can make an H.264/AAC copy of a finished video:

ffmpeg -i finished.mp4 -c:v libx264 -c:a aac viewing-copy.mp4

If you selected MKV in CaptureGem, use your finished .mkv file as the input instead. Choose input and output paths that are different. Hardware encoding, if available, is configured in that external tool and is independent of CaptureGem. Check the output’s video, audio, and duration before sharing it or removing any temporary copies. Keep the original recording for recovery.
