Archiving CaptureGem Recordings to Cloud Storage
CaptureGem saves recordings to a local or configured file folder. It does not record directly into a Cloudflare R2 bucket or manage cloud object lifecycle rules for a personal library.
For an archive, first verify the finished recording locally (MP4 by default, or MKV if you selected that container). Then use a separate storage client or sync tool configured for your account to copy it to a bucket. Test a small batch, compare file count and sizes, and play a downloaded sample before treating the copy as a backup. Keep unfinished temporary segments and retained source files out of automatic archive jobs until recovery is complete.
Review the storage provider’s current pricing, credential handling, access rules, and retention options before moving a large library. Avoid automatic deletion of either local or cloud copies until you have verified independent backups. See file locations and library backups.
