Backing Up CaptureGem Recordings
A backup should include the finished videos you want to keep, the active config.json if you need your model list and settings, and any retained source media still needed for recovery. These can live in different configured folders; check Settings and the active data directory first.
An external backup tool can copy finished files to another disk or cloud location. Start with a small batch and verify that the destination has the expected files and that sampled videos play. Do not run a mirroring command that deletes destination files until you understand its deletion behavior and have an independent backup.
Schedule copies only after recordings finish. A file appearing in the output folder is not proof that finalization is complete. Monitor backup errors and available space, and periodically test restoring a file. Keep credentials outside scripts and logs. See recording locations and troubleshooting.
