Network Routing for CaptureGem Recordings
A system VPN can affect the computer’s general network traffic. CaptureGem also has proxy-related controls for parts of its supported browser and recording workflow. Do not assume one proxy setting routes every app, website, and media request through the same path.
Use the controls shown in your installed CaptureGem version, confirm the expected route for the site you use, and make a short test recording. If the stream fails only when a proxy or VPN is enabled, compare the site’s availability in the app and browser, and inspect the relevant errors. The bundled Chrome proxy launchers disable certificate validation; use those isolated sessions only for authorized stream tests, never for logins or sensitive browsing. Keep certificate checks enabled in your normal browser session.
