CaptureGem proxy workflow on macOS
CaptureGem’s Proxy tab is a separate capture workflow for browser traffic routed through the local CaptureGem proxy. It is not the same as an external VPN or a system-wide proxy setting.
Start the app and open its Proxy tab. Follow the Chrome launch instructions shown there for the current app build, then load a stream you are authorized to view. Confirm that the stream appears in the Proxy tab before starting a short recording. Stop it, wait for finalization, and verify the result in Review. Availability varies by site and stream type.
The Chrome command shown in the Proxy tab disables certificate validation for that isolated browser session, so Chrome may not warn about an invalid or intercepted HTTPS certificate. Use the session only to test streams you are authorized to view. Do not sign in, enter credentials or payment details, or browse sensitive sites in it; close it when the test is done. Use a normal browser session with certificate checks enabled for other browsing. See troubleshooting if no stream is detected.
