CaptureGem and OBS Studio: Different Recording Workflows

CaptureGem follows supported cam streams by model and saves the available stream to a local library. OBS Studio builds scenes from sources such as displays, windows, cameras, and audio devices, then records or broadcasts that composition. OBS’s own quick-start guide describes its source, audio, and recording controls.

Use CaptureGem when you want to add a supported model, record its public stream, and review the resulting local file. Use OBS when you need to capture a window or desktop, mix microphone or system audio, or compose multiple visual sources. CaptureGem does not capture a desktop or microphone; OBS does not provide CaptureGem’s model-monitoring workflow out of the box.

Neither tool guarantees that a recording will be complete. Test a short session, inspect the output, and plan for bandwidth, disk space, and site availability. CaptureGem first recording explains its workflow.
