Choosing a Player for CaptureGem VR Recordings

A CaptureGem VR recording is a local media file. The player needs to interpret the source’s stereo layout and projection correctly; the app does not guarantee that every file has spatial metadata a player can detect automatically.

Choose a player available on your device that can open the file’s codec and lets you adjust stereo layout and projection. Test a short recording before organizing a large library around one player. If the image looks flat, doubled, or warped, try the settings that match the original source; do not assume side-by-side, fisheye, or a fixed field of view is correct for every site.

Preserve the original recording while testing a converted or metadata-edited copy. See VR playback and recording troubleshooting.
