Keeping CaptureGem Running on Windows
CaptureGem needs a running desktop session, network access, and enough writable disk space while it monitors and records streams. Check the current Windows sleep settings so the computer stays awake during sessions you intend to capture. If you change power settings, use a scope and duration appropriate to your machine.
In CaptureGem Settings, confirm the finished video and temporary folders are on volumes with enough free space. A full temp volume can interrupt recording even when the finished-video volume has room. Avoid moving or clearing temporary files from an active session.
You do not need to force CaptureGem.exe or recorderd.exe to a high-performance GPU for ordinary stream capture. The app normally saves the available source stream; it does not provide a general NVENC setting. If Windows or security software interferes, diagnose the specific event in the app and system logs before disabling a protection or changing a global power policy. Finish by making and playing a short test recording.
