Planning for High-Resolution Recording
CaptureGem saves the video a supported source provides. It cannot raise a lower-resolution stream to true 8K or 120 frames per second. The app does not offer ffmpeg_params, gpu_acceleration, or AV1/NVENC encoder controls for ordinary live capture.
Start with a source you can verify
Record a short public test session at the quality available from that site. Open the finished file and check its resolution, frame rate, duration, audio, and representative frames. Do not buy hardware based on a resolution label or an unverified calculator estimate.
Measure the actual bottlenecks
Watch network throughput and free space on both the video and temporary destinations. File size depends on the source bitrate and duration. Some repair or post-processing work may use CPU after recording. Add more simultaneous recordings gradually and verify each output.
